For the dough:
For the filling:
For the dough combine the milk, yeast and the sugar, leave it to rest for 10 minutes.
Add all the other ingredients together in a bowl and mix it up with the milk. Knead it together to a nice slightly sticky and very elastic dough. Chill the dough for 1 hour.
For the filling put the butter in a pan with the sugar, heat until it’s all melted then add the chocolate , cocoa powder and cinnamon. Remove from the heat add the chopped walnuts and leave it to cool down.
If your dough chilled enough, and doubled in size dust your work surface with some flour, roll your dough out to a rectangle. Spread the filling over the dough and roll up tightly. Cut the rolled up dough length ways down in the centre. With the cut side facing up gently alternate crossing the pieces over each other to create a two strand braid, than shape it to a circle.
Line your baking tray with baking paper and preheat your oven to 180 degrees.
Leave your babka to rest for 30 minutes, than brush the top with an egg wash.
Bake for 30-35 minutes.
The best way to eat is with hot chocolate or milk in the morning ..LOVE - LOVE - LOVE!!!
Enjoy!!!
